Referendum to help lower electricity on March 20 ballot

ASHTON -- The Village of Ashton will be placing a referendum on the March 20, 2012 ballot. The purpose is to seek lower energy quotes for residents' electric bills. The village would aggregate resident and small business electric accounts to get competitive bids for lower prices.

Franklin Grove park board to host car show in May

The Franklin Grove Park Board will be sponsoring the Lincoln Highway Car Show from 10 a.m., 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 19 in downtown Franklin Grove. Registration is from 10 a.m., noon.
Preregistration by April 19 is $10. Registration the day of the show is $12.
Awards will be presented to Best Car, Truck and Motorcycle.

Board votes to move forward on replacing gymnasium roof

ASHTON -- The AFC School Board met Monday, Jan. 23 in a rescheduled time after the Jan. 16 meeting was postponed.
