ASHTON — Soon, the Ashton Police Department will outfit its patrol car with a Panasonic Toughbook®, a laptop that will serve as a communication computer system. Thanks to the Ashton Monsanto site, the Ashton Police Department will now be able to purchase a Toughbook for its patrol car, using a $6,509 grant from the Monsanto Fund.

The computer system will enhance communication and allow the police department to receive instant access to information. Police officers can use the computer for a wide variety of situations such as the retrieval of license plates and driver’s license information, the recovery of stolen vehicles, and identifying people with outstanding warrants. The Panasonic Toughbook® is very durable and can withstand harsh conditions, making it the optimal laptop for the job.
