AFC Raiders make history as Regional champions

ASHTON -- The AFC Raiders boys basketball team accomplished something that hasn't been done since the two school districts combined in 1990 - win a regional basketball tournament.
The Raiders faced off against the Indian Creek Timberwolves in the championship game in the Hinckley-Big Rock regional tournament after knocking off Somonauk in the opening round. AFC

ASHTON -- It was a memorable game for all the seniors on Saturday night at the AFC high school basketball game as the Raiders knocked off the visiting Durand Bulldogs 78-34.

ASHTON -- The fresh-soph boys basketball team played their final game of the season on Saturday, Feb. 21 looking to take third place in the AFC Fresh-Soph Tournament.
The Raiders were taking on the Polo Marcos for the fourth time this season and AFC was looking to tie the season series.

ASHTON -- The AFC boys basketball team took the long road trip to Dakota on Tuesday to face off against the Indians in a NUIC conference game. The length of trip must have had an effect of on the Raiders shooting as they struggled early and often trying to find the range on their jump shots.

ASHTON -- The fresh-soph boys' basketball team was back in action Tuesday, Feb.17 to start their last week of games for the 2014-15 season.
They started the week in Dakota to face the Indians. The Raiders came out flat and got down early. The Indians size and the Raiders ice cold shooting was too much to overcome.
