PELLA, Iowa — Charles Friday will compete for the Central College baseball team this spring.

Now in his sixth season, coach Adam Stevens has averaged nearly 21 wins, reaching the Iowa Conference tournament five times. The Dutch return 18 letterwinners from last year’s 17-20 team, including seven position starters and three starting pitchers. The team opens March 6 against Grinnell College in Fulton, Mo. The non-conference schedule is highlighted by a spring break trip to Vero Beach, Fla. March 12-20.
