ASHTON — Two AFC Raiders basketball players were recognized for their performance at the Sterling Newman Christmas Classic over the winter break. Matt Gendusa was selected for the Sportsmanship Award for his conduct while on the basketball court, respect for his opponents, and graciousness in winning or defeat. The award was based on votes from tournament officials and coaches.
Also being recognized for his performance on the court was Junior Troy Mairs, who was selected to the all-tournament team while leading AFC in scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots during the tournament. This was his second consecutive year for being selected to this team.
