37th Summer Harvest Festival planned for Aug. 4 – 7

FRANKLIN GROVE -- The 37th annual Franklin Grove Summer Harvest Festival is set for the weekend of Aug. 4-7 and will honor community volunteerism as its theme. Franklin Grove has long been known for the volunteer spirit that makes it a community rather than just a place where people live.

Town wide garage sales held during annual Harvest Festival

FRANKLIN GROVE -- The Franklin Grove Fire Department will once again sponsor city wide garage sales on Aug. 5 and 6, as part of the 37th Annual Harvest Festival. Last year there were more than 50 sales registered for the event.

Sheriff’s association warns of phone campaign scam

LEE COUNTY -- The Illinois Sheriffs' Association is advising all Illinois county residents that there is currently underway a phone campaign fraudulently using the name of the Illinois Sheriffs' Association in their solicitation. The Illinois Sheriffs' Association never solicits by phone but does conduct a direct mail campaign throughout the state of Illinois endorsed by the individual Sheriffs across Illinois.

Health department to host walk-in clinic

LEE COUNTY -- The Lee County Health Department reminds its residents that the rule is "Shots before School."
The county health department will hold a walk in clinic on July 27 from 8:30 a.m., 4 p.m. and July 28 from 9:30 a.m., 6 p.m.

Children’s mobile dental care clinic coming to Dixon

LEE COUNTY -- Is your child in need of basic dental care? Remember, schools require dental exams for kindergarten, second and sixth grade students.
The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile will be coming to Dixon on July 28. Hours are 8 a.m. , 1 p.m. It will be located at McDonald's Restaurant, 207 N. Galena Ave.
