FRANKLIN GROVE — Charline “Joy” Prescott, 90, passed away on Feb. 24, 2017 at Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Center. Joy was born Charline Joy NcNitt in Franklin Grove on Oct. 13, 1926 and was a lifelong Franklin Grove resident. She married Chester A. Prescott in June of 1950.
As a lifelong member of the Franklin Grove United Methodist Church, Joy faithfully served the congregation as Communion Steward for more than 30 years.
She loved flowers, cats and working in her garden. She worked at the Franklin Grove Living and Rehab Center before becoming a resident there.
Joy is survived by her three children, Mary (Joe) Wolfe of Polo, Chester Prescott of Franklin Grove and Noelle (Michael) Rains of Chana. She has two grandsons, Morgan and Jason Rains, also of Chana and three special nieces, Nancy Swan, Janet Serder, and Marline Colbert.
Proceeding her in death were her parents, Lloyd and Leland (Dunlop) McNitt, her husband Chester Arthur Prescott and twin baby girls.
A memorial celebration of Joy’s life will be held at Franklin Grove United Methodist Church, 223 W. Middle St., corner of State and Middle, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 18 with Rev. Laura Crites officiating.For the complete article see the 03-15-2017 issue.
