FRANKLIN GROVE ­ — Lucille A. Arnold, 94, of Franklin Grove, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at her home. 

She was born Aug. 13, 1915, in Pond Creek, Ohio, the daughter of George and Mary (Cattee) Hilbert. 

She had been a cosmetic salesperson for Vanda Beauty Council. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Dixon; Franklin Grove Women’s Club; a 60-year member of Lee County Home Extension; and a 4-H leader for many years.

She married Joseph Engelbrecht Dec. 12, 1933, at St. Mary Catholic Church, West Brooklyn. He preceded her in death on Aug. 17, 1983. She married Dwight Arnold on Feb. 14, 1994, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Dixon.

She also was preceded in death by sisters, Betty Hora, Florence Rinegardt, Helen Weber, Mary Latta, and Amelia Gentry; and brothers, Clarence, Herman, George, and Harold Hilbert.

She is survived by her husband of Franklin Grove; children, Shirley Lamb, of Detroit, Wanda LaBonte, of Franklin Grove, Marilyn (Cary) Bruce, of McHenry, Robert Engelbrecht, of Rockford, and Gene Engelbrecht, of Dixon; stepdaughters, Jacqueline Arnold, of Aurora and Dorene (Steve) Robertson, of Montgomery; 26 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren: three stepgrandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Rita Bilderback, of Griffin, Ind., and Vivian Jostsnas of Prophetstown.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home, Dixon, with the Rev. James Keenan, pastor of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Dixon, officiating.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Dixon. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
