ASHTON — The AFC Raiders basketball team travelled to South Beloit to participate in the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday tournament this weekend and faced off against the Dakota Indians.
The Raiders struggled offensively through the first half and trailed 32-11 at half time.
However, in the second half the Raiders were able outscore the Indians 27-20 but ended up losing by a final score of 52-38.
The Raiders were led in scoring by Troy Mairs with 18 points, Bret Gittleson with 10 points and Nick McClanahan added seven points.
Defensively, Gittleson led the team with six rebounds and McClanahan blocked four shots.
The loss drops the Raiders overall record to 5-10 on the season and they continue their play this week in the tournament and play Thursday night at home vs. Pecatonica at 6 p.m.
