Two AFC wrestlers travel to State wrestling tournament

ASHTON — On Friday, Feb. 8, and Saturday, Feb. 9, two AFC Raider wrestlers participated in the IHSA Sectional Tournament at Oregon High School.

Representing AFC were Anthony Hahn and Jake Kaecker. The top four place winners in each weight class advance to the State Tournament in Champaign on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 14 through 16.

Kaecker qualified for State by finishing second at 152 pounds. Hahn finished in fifth place at 113 pounds and is an alternate. That means if one of the top four finishers can’t participate for any reason, Hahn would wrestle.
