ROCHELLE — State Representative Tom Demmer is hosting a Town Hall Meeting in Rochelle to inform community members about the current gun bills being debated in Springfield.
On Friday, March 8 at 6 p.m. Demmer will update community members at the Rochelle City Hall Council Chambers about gun rights and what was decided on Tuesday, Feb. 26 in Springfield.
“Representative Demmer keeps getting phone calls and e-mails asking about gun rights and what is going on in Springfield,” said Austin Quick, Demmer’s chief of staff.
“Rep. Demmer decided to host the town hall meeting to give community members a chance to hear about what is being debated and what amendments are being passed in Springfield on gun control in Illinois.”
The meeting will begin with Demmer updating on what legislation has passed and failed in Springfield followed by an open forum. Community members will be able to ask the representative questions and state their concerns for gun issues.
“Gun rights is an important issue right now,” said Quick. “Anyone who has an concerns or questions about the current gun issues in Illinois should attend the town hall meeting.”
