DIXON — The doors to the new Ashton Family Health Center are now open as KSB Hospital and Rochelle Community Hospital (RCH) start their collaboration of offering primary healthcare in the Ashton community.
The new clinic, located at 320 N. First Street (Illinois Route 38), is a consolidation of KSB’s Ashton Clinic with RCH’s Family Healthcare Center. The clinic started seeing patients on Monday, June 17.
“Partnering with Rochelle Community Hospital provides us with the perfect opportunity to continue to serve the Ashton community and provide quality healthcare in a local setting,” KSB President and CEO Dave Schreiner said.
“One of the main objectives of KSB is to be the best place for patients to receive care. By maintaining a presence in Ashton, we are fulfilling our mission.”
The Ashton Family Health Center will be staffed by providers from both hospitals. Family medicine physician Kurt Crowe, M.D., will spend two days a week at the Ashton clinic as well as continuing to operate his practice at the KSB Center for Health Services – Amboy Clinic.
Crowe will see patients in Ashton on Tuesdays and Thursdays and will have office hours in Amboy the rest of the week. Linda Estock, RN, will continue as Crowe’s office nurse in Ashton and LouAnn McMillion will remain as the receptionist.
Rochelle Community Hospital physician Theresa Elises, M.D., and nurse practitioner Marilyn Balch, APN, FNP-BC, will see patients on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
“We have developed a strong relationship between our providers and our patients, having been in Ashton for 13 years now,” Chief Practice Officer Kevin Marx said. “Dr. Crowe will continue to deliver the same kind of compassionate care that the Ashton community has come to expect.”
Office hours at the Ashton Family Health Center will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Phone numbers and fax numbers will not change. KSB patients will continue calling 815-453-1212 to schedule an appointment and Rochelle Community Hospital patients should call 815-453-2681.
KSB’s current provider at the Ashton Clinic, Sameer Jain, M.D., has relocated his practice to the KSB Center for Health Services – Polo Clinic effective June 3.
Jain has replaced Risha Raven, M.D., who has moved her practice to the Family Health Center at Town Square Centre in Dixon.
