FRANKLIN GROVE — The Franklin Grove Summer Harvest Festival Committee has invited all those who volunteered their time and efforts to make the 34th Franklin Grove Summer Harvest Festival a success to attend an appreciation picnic at the Atlasta Park Woman’s Club Shelter on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 6:30 p.m.

A review and critique of this year’s festival will be followed by suggestions on how to improve next year’s festival as well as suggestions for new events.

It takes many people to put on the three day event in which Franklin Grove shows its hospitality by opening the town to people from throughout the area to both participate and enjoy family fun activities.

Special events this year included, the outdoor movie sponsored by the Youth Committee, the Big Rigs Show, sponsored by area truck owner operators,, the Art show at the Winifred Knox memorial Library, more than 50 garage sales sponsored by the Franklin Grove Fire Department, the exhibits at the Chaplin Creek Fiber Fair, the 33rd Living History Antique Equipment Show, and the Festival Parade administered by the Ashton Lions Club.

All who helped in any way, and who are interested in next year’s festival are invited to attend. Those attending are asked to bring table service and a dish to pass. Meat and beverages will be provided.
