ASHTON ó Ashton Village President Don Ross opened the meeting with thanks to the Veteranís who have served or are serving to preserve our freedom. Veteranís Andrew Kida and Darrell Farringer were in the audience and were recognized by Ross for their service.
The board approved the Annual Levy Ordinance that was presented during the October meeting.
In other action
The board approved the engineering agreement presented for the next phase of the sewar system improvements. The state required the news engineering agreement before bids for the project can be received.
The streets and alley committee met and reviewed one bid that had been submitted for sidewalk repairs. They are hoping more bids come in for comparison.
They looked at options for street repairs but will research the options before reporting on them.
The water and sewer committee reported that it had been a good month for the workers who have completed projects to stop water leaks and replace fire hydrants.
Trustee Susan Larson reported that the park committee is working on some plans to submit to the Blum Family Foundation for consideration.
A special meeting was held prior to the regular meeting regarding the investment policy for the cemetery funds. The board approved the recommendation to send it back to Attorney Dave Tess for final draft.
Larson and Ross gave the board a recap of the IML conference that they attended recently. Highlighting the informaiton on parks they found interesting.
